It’s been two months since I last updated my podcast. People were beginning to ask questions due to my absence. Because the last time I went two months without updating my podcast, tragedy unfolded in my life. This time has not been anything like that. In fact, quite the opposite. Instead of something terrible happening to me, some tremendously good things have happened— and all at once, seemingly out of nowhere.
Which, considering the prior events of my life, has absolutely baffled me. Suddenly instead of bad things happening to me and overwhelming me, an tidal wave of goodness has come my way. What I have experienced reminds me a lot of the story from the book of Job in the Bible, where, after a series of unexplainably tragedy, misfortune, and grief had overtaken Job, the misfortunes of Job were reversed, and just as much goodness came his way.
In today’s podcast, I just want to take a few moments to talk about dealing with tragedy and loss, but more importantly, dealing with the goodness when it suddenly comes upon you, and how this ultimately ties together with Jesus Christ, divine providence, and God’s dealings with our lives.
