Presently, the coronavirus is putting a real scare into the world. The stock market has plunged dramatically in a very short period of time. And our political future is uncertain as we enter into an election season. Combined, these happenings are starting to make a lot of people afraid. It causes us to feel a little less certain about our trusted institutions as fear begins to take over our vantagepoint. Everything feels a little apocalyptic, like the world could end.
Inspired by the combination of these things, I have decided to release an additional “bonus episode” of my podcast. I read from Revelation 18-19, and draw inspiration from this apocalyptic passage of Scripture. And I look at how we should live our lives in light of the apocalypse, the overthrow of Babylon the Great, and how we ultimately need to place our trust in the One to whom belongs all power and glory. To survive our mini-apocalypses, we need to be an apocalyptic people.
Please listen and let me know what you think. I pray that you find peace in a time in which the world lacks that peace, and appears to be set on fire and under judgment.
